It exhibits approximately the textbooks currently used in the elementary, lower and upper secondary schools in Japan as well as textbooks being used in other countries. It also preserves textbooks that were published after 1949 under the textbook approval system. It provides reference books that are required for editing textbooks, making researches on textbooks and studying educational methods, etc. It is intended for heightening citizens’ concern about textbooks, and offers data and information to those engaged in the field of education, editors and writers of textbooks, and researchers.
